- PT. Inkor Prima Coal (Samarinda to Cebu ), handled full logistics service from port to port (CIF Basis ) from jetty PT INKOR at Lembus Swana Samarinda to jetty KEPCO SPC Power at Cebu – Phillipines from March to April 2011 ( 2 shipments X 46,000 MT ) with challenges as follows :
oTransshipment use of 230 feet barge size with total 14 sets
and distance about 32 Miles or 16 hours steaming time to Mother vessel.
o Dry season with low water gradually decreased every day was a big challenge to set up 14 units of barges passing the river bridge
with low draft to ensure sufficient cargo of 46,000 MT to be loaded on board mother vessel for two shipments.
o BKS had to arrange Mother vessels, tugs and barges, Stevedoring at loading and discharging ports, Shipping agency, cargo
documents such as PEB & COO at loading port in Samarinda
- PT. Bina Insan Sukses Mandiri (Melak to Muara Berau),handled coal transshipment from Linggam Merimun jetty owned by PT BISM located at Melak ( upriver Mahakam) to anchorage loading point Muara Berau, Samarinda at 2nd week of August 2011 with challenges as follows :
o Transshipment use of 230 feet barges size with total 15 sets and distance about 450 Miles or steaming time 4.5
days to Mother
vessel.
o Dry season with effect of low water level gradually decreased everyday was a big challenge to set up and load 15 sets of barges
with different loadable quantities due to water change everyday to ensure sufficient cargo of 52,000 MT to be loaded
on board mother vessel.
o BKS had to arrange tugs and barges, stevedoring, loading supervision dan cargo documents (PEB & COO)
- (Maladahi, Kabaena- South East Sulawesi ),handled nickel ore transshipment from jetty Malandahi, north Kabaena, South-east Sulawesi to loading anchorage at 2nd week August 2011 with challenges as follows :
o 1st shipment of Nickel ore by shipper from jetty Malandahi. No lights/buoys for conducting 24 hours operation.
o Transshipment use of 180 and 210 feet barges size with total 3 sets and distance about 2 Miles or 2 hours steaming time
to Mother vessel.
o Loading at Jetty through rampdoor using trucks and excavators.
o Barges passing narrow channels which had only 55 meters of width and 1 mile long for 24 hours non stop to load 31,500 MT
of nickle ore.
o BKS prepared the channels by checking water depth with Bathymetric survey and prepared light & buoys, tugs & barges, stevedoring,
loading supervision, shipping agency and PEB & COO.
